Scandinavian style with Slettvoll

There is something intensely appealing to me about Scandinavian interiors and design and below is the perfect example of why. Scandinavian interiors are uncluttered, functional and elegant, often favouring a colour foundation of white (or variations of white) with timber flooring in either a light stain or painted white. A fireplace in the corner of the room and a subtle palette of grey, beige & white, with accents of black and lots of natural wood, also feature heavily in Scandinavian homes and interiors. Every now and then, you may even see a splash of vibrant colour contrasting against a predominantly white interior canvas.

A company that exudes this exact brand of Scandinavian design, and one that is very much in line with the Cottonwood style principles and philosophy, is that of Norwegian furniture maker, Slettvoll. Adored by many Scandinavians for it’s muted and luxuriously natural fabrics and upholstery, combined with simplistic, streamlined furniture and natural wood, it is Scandinavian style at it’s absolute best. It’s a look that transcends and can be effortlessly combined with many other decorating styles. It’s also a design style I identify with personally (given my love of white, beige and grey).

Here is a sneak peek into the beautiful world of Slettvoll, taken from their stunningly inspirational website www.slettvoll.no

These dining chairs with the beige hem, and the curvaceous dining sofa, are something else! I also love this dining table with it’s unique cross leg pedestal base. This dining space is the epitome of casual elegance.
Grey, beige and white, combined with wood and an antique piece here and there, is the essence of Slettvoll style.
Could you imagine a more stunningly elegant and casual beach house? I love the combination of white chairs and mushroom brown dining sofa with the antique wood dining table. It’s casual and inviting with subtle character, styled in a paired back way.
This is what a true grown up city pad should look like. I particularly love the light timber floors here. They have a beautiful rawness to them and work so well with the neutral and slightly masculine style.
Modern lines with traditional styling. Slettvoll do simple, casual elegance like no other.
I love the masculine feel in the room above, particularly the incredibly sleek and functional coffee table.
