Cottonwood and Co is a high-end interior design and editorial photography studio based in Wānaka, New Zealand. With an aesthetic that’s rooted in traditional New England design and informal British decoration, underpinned by a strong emphasis on quality and longevity, interior designer Nicki Dobrzynski is known for creating spaces that are deliberately unstuffy, inviting and timeless.
Started in 2011, after 12 years working in residential construction, project management and commercial interior design (then later studying Interior Design at a private college in Sydney), Nicki paused client interiors for several years to raise her young children, shifting focus to interior and lifestyle photography working with editorial magazines and brands alike. Relocating several years ago with her young family to Wānaka, New Zealand, from the Southern Highlands of Australia, Nicki has since resumed her boutique interior design practice.
With skills and experience honed over many years, including her own renovations, Nicki’s passion for traditional-style joinery, antiques and beautiful textiles, along with her deep appreciation for traditional architecture and design, ensures her clients’ interior avoids the influence of passing trends. She works closely with clients to truly understand their vision and budget, whilst also bringing a high level of sophistication, charm, and comfort.
Nicki’s interior design and photography work has been featured in publications such as Home Beautiful, House & Garden, Country Style, and Elle Decor. You can see some of Nicki’s interior design work here, or editorial photography work here.
