Jeffrey Alan Marks & The Meaning of Home

I’m sure many of you have seen the hit Bravo TV show, Million Dollar Decorators, by now, but for those of you who haven’t, it follows the lives of four of Hollywoods top interior decorators, as they go about their work. Each designer has their own individual trademark style (and eccentric personality!) and although I can appreciate each designers work, I find myself particularly drawn to the style of just one: Jeffrey Alan Marks. Or JAM as he’s affectionately known.

His style is tailored and refined but also equally relaxed and casual, and always has an emphasis on functionality and a unique sense of homeliness that he tailors beautifully to each individual client. His commercial work, as well as his own range of furniture, is equally as beautiful and exude the same kind of homeliness and casual elegance that he is known for.

If you love the work of Jeffrey Alan Marks, then you’ll be particularly excited about the release of his new book titled “The Meaning of Home”, due out next month. I, for one, cannot wait to add his book to my coffee table collection! His new book can be pre-ordered here through Amazon.com for anyone wanting to secure their own piece of JAMspiration. Here are some of my favourite looks by Jeffrey Alan Marks.

Okay, yes I MAY have a small crush on JAM! He is just so handsome and cool (and apparently very lovely and down to earth). Swoon!
I just LOVE this Nantucket Beach House (from the second season of Million Dollar Decorators). The palette and overall design is pure summertime elegance, infused with relaxation and calm.
I especially love the ceilings in this house and all the ‘board & batten’ walls which add visual interest against and white canvas. Simply stunning!
The Pacific Palisades home JAM re-did is so elegant and has a real element of upscale glamour without being over the top or ostentatious.
I think the living room is so incredibly stylish yet restrained and simply chic.
The pool house is just so fabulous I want to live in it!
The Malibu Shingle House is classic American, but oozes modern charm and character. I love all the rustic touches and accent pieces which contrast beautifully against all the clean, modern lines.
This incredibly chic and gently masculine outdoor space just makes me want to pour myself a glass of cider and relax by the fire with friends. Such a cool space.

Lets hope they film a third season!
