New Zealand project

Well, it’s been 2 months since my last post and I’ve come to the realisation that my blogging unfortunately takes a back seat when things get too hectic with work and family. So, I am going to apologise in advance because there will be times when there are large gaps between posts but I’m sure you’re all very busy yourselves, so won’t mind too much. 😉
One of the reasons I’ve been busier than usual of late (aside from juggling a baby and a growing business!) is that we recently completed a very cool interior styling project over in New Zealand. This stunning 5 bedroom home overlooking the spectacular Tuki Tuki River and Te Mata Peak in beautiful Hawkes Bay, was actually completed 2 years ago although unfortunately wasn’t fully decked out on the interior front, and needed to be completed so it could go on the market.
I spent a fair bit of time sourcing products in Australia that could be taken over (Hawkes Bay is a small regional area so not a great deal of choice or options in terms of interiors), then numerous insanely busy days in Hawkes Bay trying to source remaining furniture and decor items, getting lights relocated and installed, doing floral arrangements, plus styling and assisting the photographer over 2 days. It was hectic to say the least!
So, I thought i’d share some of the professional images with you. The property is for sale by tender, through Sotheby’s International in Hawkes Bay. It is a truly incredible, world class location and house.
Some of the furniture were from my favourite furniture & interior stores, Madisons, in Napier. Cushions for the sofa and window seating were from Pottery Barn in Australia (yep, I lugged over 12 large cushions!). Cushions on the window seat are by Artwood, available at Panache in Hastings.
The stunning Antler light came from Restoration Hardware in America. Dining table was handmade and the linen dining chairs are from Madisons.
This stunning outdoor setting (including the chandelier) came from Restoration Hardware. The owner flew to America and had several containers filled and shipped over to New Zealand! This place is truly breathtaking. You sit outside and can literally hear the river flowing past you. Did I mention the mountains?!
The very cool kids bunk room features linen by Wallace Cotton (you can see our post on Wallace Cotton here ) and includes a double bed below one of the single bunks. These built in bunk beds were all custom made for the owner.
Nothing like a glass of cool sparkling water by Antipodes. We are a bit obsessed with their beautiful water and gorgeous bottles!
The pool house or 5th guest bedroom with it’s own ensuite. It is completely separate from the house and the views are incredible!
Imagine waking up to this!?!
I must say, I would love to have a big laundry! Loads of room for linen, towels, cleaning products etc. Behind the kitchen and linking up with the Laundry is a fabulous butlers pantry and prep kitchen which includes a custom made built-in meat / cheese safe with marble shelving.
The large industrial-style shelving cabinet is also from Restoration Hardware.
Looking North East to Te Mata Peak and Craggy Range. Furniture from Restoration Hardware.
Stunning American Oak flooring throughout. Mirror from Freedom in Hastings. Console, table lamps and pendant light from Restoration Hardware.
This home is just as spectacular at night!
