Mum, wife, interior designer and photographer living in spectacular Southern Alps on New Zealand's South Island. Here I share my work but also my love for all things home, entertaining, renovating, cooking (mostly low carb these days), and creating beautiful moments whilst capturing it all on camera. We picked up our Christmas tree and while it looks rather floppy, and a bit “ugly-beautiful” 🥴 (spring growth on a Douglas Fir), it sure smells amazing, and well, it’s nothing 6000 lumens can’t fix ✨ 💡 ✨ 🎄 #christmastree #cottagechristmas

Scenes from dinner with friends (who are visiting

Scenes from dinner with friends (who are visiting from Oz) this past weekend - a beautiful almost summer evening outside, wild picked elderflowers on the table and some really yummy food which I thought I’d share.
Nothing too extravagant but all super flavourful, and the best part is I was able to prepare most of it in advance, so I didn’t have to spend too long in the kitchen.
* Ottolenghi’s lemony giant cous cous with raisins, almonds and parsley oil.
* Marinated grassfed steak with arugula pesto and creamy buffalo mozzarella.
* Crispy roasted Jersey Benne potatoes.
Perfect for summer BBQ weather and don’t have to be served piping hot (just as nice warm as they are hot). The recipes do recipe larger amount of herbs for both the parsley oil, pesto and cous cous (thankfully we have @med_market_wanaka here who sell amazingly fresh herbs in larger quantities) but all are worth it. So much flavour! I’ll share the links in my stories to each recipe.

Keto caramel slice 🤎 I made a batch on the weekend (although not without hiccups, if you saw my Stories 🤦🏼‍♀️) when we had friends for dinner as these are possibly one of my favourite sweet treats since going keto, that doesn’t even feel/taste like it’s low carb.
A delicious coconut & almond base, then a firm sweet caramel layer, with a crisp chocolate top. l double the recipe and even so, they never seem to last more than 72 hours in our house. They are, unfortunately, extremely moorish!!
I’ll link the recipe I use in my stories & bio as I’ve tried a few out there, and keep coming back to the same recipe. Some other recipes just don’t have very thoroughly explained methods, which is annoying when you’re making a caramel that can be temperamental. But these really are worth the effort! Loved using this beautiful Scottish linen from @caroline_inchyra (available in NZ from @decorettissu) for our @homebeautiful Christmas table. I love all the muted colours, and the birds which feels very Kiwi to me (the bird life here in next level, if that’s your jam).
I know many of you will be sitting around a table for Thanksgiving in a few days, so wishing you a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving with family, friends and loved ones. Excited to see a few lovely tablescapes in my feed this weekend!
Also shoutout to the lovely Sarah @thejoyfarmer for letting me raid her flower supplies for our table arrangement.
