Wallace Cotton

If you’re anything like me, you probably love pattern and print but when it comes to using it in the home, you’re a little afraid of what, where and how much of it to use! Which is why I love bedlinen so much – it’s an easy and inexpensive way to inject colour, pattern and print into your home without having to commit to anything long term. Perfect for those of us ‘compulsive re-arrangers’ who like to change things up on a whim, or with the seasons!

When it comes to bedlinen, I can’t go past one of my favourite bedding and homewares brands, Wallace Cotton in New Zealand. They’re a family owned and operated company that focus on “beautiful quality cotton”, creating “classic and enduring collections which harmonise perfectly with your décor and lifestyle”.

A family friend introduced us to Wallace Cotton many years ago and kindly brought us back one of their beautiful quilts. Ever since then, we’ve been pretty much hooked! Aside from being really well priced, the quality is excellent (even after years of washing and wear) and I quite simply find it hard to go past their stylish and classic designs.
One of my all time favourites, and one that we have, is the Butler Quilt (below) which is a gorgeous charcoal and white ticking stripe. It’s such a classic and elegant design.
I love combining our Butler Quilt with our Indira Duvet set in grey (below). The Indira design is one of my absolute favourite prints. Each season they release Indira in a new colourway, which makes it great for mixing and matching.
I also love pairing our Indira Duvet set with our grey Riverside Quilt (we have 3 Riverside Quilts we love them so much!), although unfortunately the grey Indira print, and Riverside Quilts, are no longer available which is a shame as it was a beautiful combo and colour. The good news is they currently have Indira in blue & whiteblack & white, and pink & white. The blue & white is perfect for summer and would look especially appropriate in a beach house or coastal home.
I would love the pink & white for my daughters bedroom… even though she won’t be in a ‘big bed’ for a good year or two! I figure it’s worth buying and keeping until she’s old enough as it’s girly & pretty but also mature enough as she grows up.

Although the Riverside Quilts aren’t available anymore, they do have a gorgeous new range of quilts and duvet sets from the current Spring/Summer collection, including very cute stuff for kids. Some of my favourites below!
I particularly love the charcoal & white Ethereal Duvet set (above). It’s such an interesting print and would go beautifully with our Butler Quilt, as well as complement the tones in our bedroom (white linen bedhead / greige walls / mid-grey carpet / off-white wood trim and shutters).
Of course Wallace Cotton don’t just do beautiful bedlinen….
Wallace Cotton have 5 stores throughout New Zealand (they are hoping to open up a store here in Australia in the future) but the best part is shipping to Australia is only $10, every purchase comes with a free matching laundry bag (such a nice touch), and every time you spend $500 (full priced merchandise), Wallace Cotton give you a $50 credit. How great is that?!
